Our Story

Concrete Work, Explained Plainly

We pour and repair concrete driveways, patios, walkways, and small foundations for homeowners around Los Angeles. Most of the people who call us aren't shopping for a look, they're dealing with a slab that cracked, sank, or was never poured right in the first place. We got into this trade because concrete is unforgiving, you get one shot at the pour, and the prep work you never see is what separates a slab that lasts from one that doesn't.

The problem we see most is a driveway or patio cracked along one line or sunk on one corner, usually because the base underneath wasn't compacted before the pour or there wasn't enough reinforcement in it. We compact the aggregate base in layers before any concrete goes down, and we tie in rebar on anything that'll carry a car. Where we can, we lift a settled slab back to level instead of replacing it, which saves you the cost of a full tear-out. Five years out, the base you can't see is what decides whether that slab is still flat.

Why Choose Us

What you get when you hire us

None of this is complicated. It is mostly just doing what we said we would do.

Licensed & Insured

We carry the licensing and insurance a concrete job like this calls for, and we'll show you the paperwork before we start. If a truck backs into a fence pouring your driveway, that's on our insurance, not your homeowner's policy.

Written Quotes

Every quote spells out the PSI strength, the reinforcement, and the finish so there's no argument later about what you paid for. We'd rather lose a bid than have you find out mid-pour we meant something cheaper.

Own Crew

We don't hand your driveway off to a sub we've never worked with. The people setting your forms are the same ones who walked your yard and gave you the price.

On-Time Scheduling

Concrete doesn't forgive a schedule that slips once forms are set, so we build in the days we need before we ever commit to a date. If rain's coming and it'll hurt the cure, we'd rather push the pour a day than pour it wrong.

Local Knowledge

We've poured in the expansive clay soil that runs through a lot of LA neighborhoods, and it doesn't behave like sandy soil or decomposed granite. The base prep and joint spacing we use accounts for that movement instead of ignoring it.

Cleanup

Forming and pouring concrete makes a mess, wet mix, cut slurry, broken-out slab pieces. We haul all of it off site and rinse down anything that got splashed, so you're not the one cleaning up after us.

Common Questions

Things people ask us

Questions about who's doing the work and how to check it's done right.

How long have you been pouring concrete?
Experience level varies by contractor, and it's reasonable to ask directly how many years a concrete crew has been pouring driveways, patios, and repairs in a specific area. Local experience matters more than years alone, since soil conditions and permit requirements differ from city to city.
Do you use your own crew or subcontractors?
Some concrete contractors pour with an in-house crew that handles every job from forming to finishing, while others subcontract labor out to different crews for each project. Asking whether the same people quoting the job will be the ones pouring it is a fair question before signing a contract.
Can I see examples of past concrete work?
Photos of completed driveways, patios, and repairs, ideally including the base prep and forming stages and not just the finished slab, give a clearer picture of a concrete contractor's work than a finished photo alone. Asking to see a nearby job in person is reasonable too.
Why hire a smaller concrete contractor instead of a big paving company?
A smaller concrete contractor often means the person who quotes the job is also on site pouring it, rather than handing the work off to a rotating crew. That can mean more direct communication, though it can also mean a longer wait for scheduling during busy months.
Where is this concrete contractor based?
This concrete contractor is based in Los Angeles, CA, and serves surrounding communities within roughly a 50-mile radius.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Scheduling lead time for concrete work depends on the season, with spring and early summer typically the busiest months for driveway and patio pours. Booking a few weeks ahead is common, though small repair work can sometimes be scheduled faster.
Do you clean up the site after the job is done?
Concrete work generates broken-out slab debris, excess base material, and washout from tools and trucks, and a contractor should haul all of it off site as part of the job, not leave it for the homeowner to deal with. It's worth confirming debris removal is included in the quote up front.
What happens if something gets damaged during the work?
A licensed and insured concrete contractor's liability insurance should cover accidental damage to fences, sprinkler lines, or other property during excavation or pouring. Confirming insurance coverage before work starts, rather than after damage happens, protects both sides.
Will you finish a concrete job another contractor started or abandoned?
Taking over a partially finished concrete job is possible but requires assessing what's already in place, since forms, base compaction, or reinforcement done incorrectly by a previous contractor may need to be redone rather than built on top of. It's common for a second contractor to price it slightly higher to account for that inspection and possible rework.
How can I tell if concrete work is being done correctly?
Signs of a properly prepared concrete pour include a compacted and leveled base before forms go in, rebar or mesh reinforcement lifted off the ground with chairs rather than laid flat on the dirt, and control joints cut within the first 24 hours after pouring. Asking to see the base and reinforcement before the pour happens, since it'll be hidden once the concrete is down, is a reasonable request.
